Dancer
I first found my love for dance at Karen Brind’s School of Dance in Oxfordshire when I was just three. At the age of 10, I began training at the Royal Ballet Junior Associate Programme, and went on to join their Mid-Associate Programme the next year. Alongside this, I also trained on the Ballet Cymru Associate Programme and in Contemporary and Jazz at the Steps2 Programme at Swindon Dance. At the age of twelve, I performed in English Youth Ballet’s production of the Sleeping Beauty, where I performed the roles of Lady Songbird and The White Cat. It was this production that made me realise I wanted a career on stage.
In 2016, I gained a place at Elmhurst Ballet School where I trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz and flamenco. In July of 2022, I was fortunate enough to perform with Birmingham Royal Ballet in the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony, which is definitely a highlight in my dance journey so far.
In my graduate year at Elmhurst, I performed in Elmhurst Ballet Company’s performance of ‘Legacy’, where I performed works such as ‘Birthday Offering’ by Sir Frederick Ashton, ‘The End is where we Start’ by Jordan James Bridge of Company Wayne McGregor and ‘Bronislava’ by Avatara Ayuso. In July 2023, I graduated with a Diploma in Professional Dance. Later that summer, I attended the Northern Ballet Pre Professional Programme, where I had the opportunity to perform with The Northern Ballet in their production of The Nutcracker later that year. In January 2024, I gained a place at the Acosta Pre Professional Training Programme, and left early to begin my first professional contract with Ballet Cymru.
