About Robbie

Robbie grew up in Innisfail and, at the age of 4, started his dance training with the ‘Graham Academy of Dance’. In 2008, he moved to Melbourne where he studied with ‘Ballet Theatre Australia’ and other schools and institutions. Returning back to Queensland in 2013, Robbie completed his training with the ‘Queensland Ballet Pre-Professional Programme’.

In 2014, Robbie joined ‘Ballet Cymru’ in Wales. As part of the main company, he tours the UK extensively with all of their productions. While at home in 2017, Robbie was asked to perform with ‘Melbourne Ballet Company’ and to help adjudicate The ‘Australasian Ballet Challenge’. In 2018, Robbie was nominated for ‘Best Male Dancer’ in the ‘Wales Theatre Awards’ for his role in Tim Podesta’s ‘Shadow Aspect’.

When working with Marc Brew in ‘Stuck in the Mud’ and Suzie Birchwood in ‘Perfect Balance, Robbie worked inclusively with dancers and choreographers both disabled and non-disabled. He hopes to inspire the next generation of dancers as part of the ‘Ballet Cymru’ education team that delivers workshops, classes and training across the UK.
