Access & Inclusion
Louise first connected with Ballet Cymru when attending Wales Summer Dance courses from the age of 14 whilst training in Cecchetti Ballet with Carol Goode. She went on to study BA (Hons) at London Contemporary Dance School and a Master’s in Dance Performance at Laban as part of Transitions Dance Company. Since graduating in 2014, Louise worked as a freelance performer and a community dance leader with Rubicon Dance. Louise regularly performs with Kitsch & Sync Collective, allowing her to explore their curiously quirky performance style.
Louise joined Ballet Cymru in 2018 and has since led on many outreach projects for Ballet Cymru including Wales Summer Dance, Inclusive Summer Dance camp, weekly inclusive dance classes, adult ballet classes, school residencies, curtain raiser performances, Strictly Cymru in partnership with Leonard Cheshire and Children in Need, Dance to Move in partnership with Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Health Board, and many other workshops and opportunities. Louise is a driving part of Ballet Cymru’s mission for inclusion in ballet and is currently working on the newest addition to tour, relaxed performances, as well as touch tours and audio described performances. She is also a ballet lead on the Duets Programme for South Wales.
In her spare time, Louise teaches BarreConcept fitness classes and trains in Kung Fu, and loves escaping to the beach whenever possible.
