Interwoven

‘Mae Interwoven yn ddarn theatr dawns am fywydau a phrofiadau menywod Du drwy gyfrwng gwallt. Mae’n archwilio profiad defodol gofal gwallt a’i bwysigrwydd o ran adeiladu cysylltiad a pherthnasau rhwng teuluoedd; canfyddiadau a disgwyliadau cymdeithasol ynghylch steil a mathau gwallt a sut mae hynny yn ein dylanwadu ni fel unigolion; a thaith hunandderbyn rymusol. Mae Interwoven yn gyfres fywgraffyddol o ddarnau o farddoniaeth a straeon byr sy’n rhannu bywydau menywod Du drwy gerddoriaeth, symudiad, a’r gair llafar.’

‘Interwoven is a dance theatre piece about the lives and experiences of Black women through the medium of hair. It explores the ritualistic experience of hair care and its importance in building connection and relationships between families; societal expectations and perceptions surrounding hair types and styles and how that influences us as individuals; and the empowering journey of self-acceptance. Interwoven is a biographical sequence of poems and short stories sharing the lives of Black women through music, movement, and spoken word.’
