We’re Hiring! Technical Stage Manager

We are looking for a Technical minded Stage Manager, to help deliver our upcoming tour of Giselle.

Salary: £650 Per Week

Pension: Optional Company pension scheme

Holiday Entitlement: 6 Days, within the contracted period

Location: Ballet Cymru, Newport, NP10 9FQ

Term:  Fixed Term; unsocial work hours will be required. 43 hours a week averaged across the contract period, 6 Day working week.

Benefits and entitlements:

Accommodation and £31 Per Diems provided for overnight stays away from Newport.

Discretionary Relocation Allowance of £75 per week for duration of project, plus discretionary allowances.

Interviews will take place w/c 3rd March at Ballet Cymru

Contract Period: 11 Weeks, 5th May 2025 – 20th July 2025

Job Requirements

  • To manage and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the production with the company stage manager
  • Operating sound/av and or lights for the tech, dress rehearsal and shows
  • Supporting and deputising as needed for get in’s and get out’s
  • Supporting and deputising for relighting on tour
  • Attending rehearsals to become familiar with the show
  • To drive and support driving the xlwb van on tour
  • Attend production meetings as necessary
  • Monitor required maintenance work or replacements and bring this to the attention of the production manager
  • A positive attitude to finding solutions to problems
  • The ability to work accurately under pressure
  • The ability to think creatively
  • Enthusiastic/energetic personality

Person Specification

Essential

  • Knowledge of ETC Eos Family Software
  • Knowledge of Qlab 4 and Qlab 5
  • Professional technical theatre experience
  • Ability to undertake Manual handling and working at height
  • Ability to manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Full clean Driving License
  • Excellent skills in MS365 software’s
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Welsh language speaker / writer
  • Small / Medium Scale Tour experience
  • Knowledge of OSC programming and problem solving
  • Want to grow and develop with the organisation.
