Our Voice Bursary recipients Shakeera Ahmun and Jadyn Bagayas are looking forward to offering you a glimpse into their choreographic processes. Over the past six months both Shakeera and Jadyn have spent time exploring and developing their choreographic practice, and with the support of Ballet Cymru Pre-professional dancers they will share examples of some of the things they’re exploring in their practice.
Following the sharing and after the sunset, join us for a chat over a meal and a cuppa.
Whether you’re a lover of dance, or just curious about the arts in general, Our Voice 2026 is for you!
We can’t wait to see you there!

Shakeera Ahmun is a dance artist and choreographer with a passion for storytelling through movement and performance. She enjoys exploring movement that comes from the felt self, unfiltered and honesty, and how that can be shown through dance and movement as a medium for connection and healing.
Influenced by her current exploration of the Invisible Load, Shakeera’s duet work for the Our Voice Sharing will explore the weight of things that we carry, often without anyone noticing, and how we might bond through these shared experiences together.

Jadyn Arriola Bagayas is a Filipina dancer and creative from New Zealand. She trained in New York with Ballet Academy East and has danced with Ballet Rhode Island. She is now training with Ballet Cymru 2. Passionate about choreography, Jadyn aims to create inspiring and meaningful work that shares stories of human emotion, connection, and heritage.
Jadyn will be sharing examples of work in different stages. Firstly, showcasing the beginning stages of a piece, she will be exploring how the pathways and patterns of Filipino folk dance can be used to create contemporary duet phrases between dancers. Secondly, she will be sharing an excerpt from “In the Making …”, a piece debuting at the Ballet Cymru 2 Made in Wales performance, showcasing how she uses music as a prominent tool to inspire movement.
