Audio Description and Touch Tours

Our list of audio described productions is ever increasing and we are looking at how to provide all of our audience members with the option for audio description in the future, no matter what the venue. We have been thrilled with the feedback from our past performances which have been beautifully audio described by Alastair Sill and Ioan Gwyn at The Riverfront Theatre in Newport.

As an audience member using the audio description service, you will be invited to attend a Touch Tour approximately one hour prior to the performance.

This tour will take you on stage to be up close and personal with the dancers who are going to perform that day as they take you through the characters they will be portraying, the costumes they will wear and their signature movements that define their characters.

You will also be able to see and feel the set that will be used throughout the performance and its position on stage to give a full and detailed image to accompany the narrative you will hear.

You will also have the chance to meet with the audio describer for that performance and be accompanied for the entire duration by a staff member of the theatre or Ballet Cymru to assist you with any needs you might have before, during and after the performance.

We designate specific seating to audience members using the audio description service so it is important that you contact the theatre directly by phone for booking tickets so that you are assigned to this seating selected to be of most convenience to you.
