Dancer
Ryan’s passion for dance began at the age of seven when he joined Catherine Gallagher’s Stage Dance School in Coatbridge, Scotland. His talent and dedication soon led him to become a Scottish Ballet Junior Associate, where he participated in their program for two years. Following this, he completed four years at the Dance School of Scotland before being accepted into the Central School of Ballet. In 2023, Ryan successfully graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Professional Dance and Performance. During his final year, he performed notable works such as the pas de deux “Two Pigeons” and “Dextera,” choreographed by Sophie Laplane and set to Mozart’s music, which celebrates the creative process and the artistry of hands.
Ryan continued his development with postgraduate training at the Arles Youth Company in France, where he performed in several pieces, including “Gaia” and “Storm” by Kinsun Chan, “Bolero” by Julien Guerin, and “Simple R” by Katarzyna Kozielska. With his father being a fluent Welsh speaker from Anglesey, Ryan takes immense pride in joining Ballet Cymru for his first professional contract, where he is eager to contribute his skills and passion to the company’s repertoire.
