Patricia Vallis trained at the Rotterdam Dance Academy and Joffrey Ballet School in New York, USA. She has danced for in companies in Europe, working with Richard Wherlock, Birgitta Trommler, David Parsons and Bernd Schindowski.
She danced with the Zürich Ballet, performing soloist and principal roles in The Nutcracker, Medea, Raymonda, Lej Dal Chods, The Dansant, Trazom (choreography Bernd Bienert) as well as in pieces by Mats Ek, Lionel Hoche, Jorma Uotinnen and Amanda Miller. She was fortunate to perform in the iconic Sacre and L’Apres-midi d’un Faune in the original Nijinsky choreography.
She started to choreograph while still dancing, and in Zürich her piece ‘The Three Sisters’ was chosen for the 75th theatre celebration. She also choreographed for the Opera ‘L’Enfant et Les Sortilèges’ at the Zürich opera house. In 1999, she created had her own company in France, Cie Bla Bla Bla, which toured to festivals in France.
Patricia started teaching in Zürich in 1999 and became Ballet Mistress in Darmstadt State Theatre in 2001. She has been a guest teacher for the dance companies in St Gallen, Augsburg, Ballet Cymru, National Dance Company Wales, Wayne McGregor’s Random Dance and Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, and the TROCS.
Patricia joined Ballet Cymru in 2005 as guest teacher. She has taken on the role of Manager of Ballet Cymru’s Pre-Professional Programme in 2017, choreographing, managing the programme content and mentoring the dancers.
